Do a quick search for “productivity” in Google. You’ll get millions of blog posts, infographics and videos promising to help you squeeze MORE into your day.
You’ll find an endless series of hacks, habits and rituals. Each one carefully crafted to help you plow through your day like there’s no tomorrow. But then tomorrow DOES come. And you do it all again. Plus some.
Really!?
Is adding another item to your to-do list going to be the difference that makes the difference? Do we need to move even faster? Do even more?
I don’t think so. Not even close.
After all, there will always be another to-do to add to your list. There’s always going to be another blog post you could write. Another instagram pic to post. Tweets to tweet. Snaps to snap. And whatever comes next.
Not to mention interviews, books to write, funnels to build, events to host and more.
Oh wait. What about that pesky family of yours? I guess we should squeeze them in too, yeah? And friends. Or a vacation. Remember those?

The Real Secret of Getting It All Done
Would you like to know the real secret of “getting it all done”?
It’s actually quite simple. Do less.
Paradoxical? Unconventional? Yes and yes. That’s why it works. After all, conventional wisdom only leads to conventional results.
Look, you can be as busy as you want. You can become a master at checking tasks off your to-do list. But that’s not what matters. Because it’s not about the tasks.
In fact, I believe 90% of what you’re doing on a daily basis could be eliminated. Forever.
But how do you know which 90% to eliminate? THAT is a question worth answering.
Two To-Do List Clearing Questions
There are two questions you can use to eliminate items from your to-do list BEFORE they ever make it to the list. These questions can save you hours, even weeks, of pointless busy work.
Question #1
What are the one or two things you need to do today to move you toward your biggest outcomes?
This question keeps you focused on your biggest goals. In order to be truly productive, not just busy, you must stay focused on your MAJOR outcomes.
Be radically honest with yourself.
Are the items on your to-do list moving you closer to your BIGGEST, most important outcomes?
Or, is your to-do list full of busy work so you don’t have to confront the actual work that will move you forward?

Question #2
How can I X without Y?
In this case, “X” is your BIG outcome. “Y” are the tasks you think you need to do or tasks you don’t want to do.
For example…
How do I increase my income to $25,000 per month without blogging or posting on social media?
Another example…
How do I consistently attract my ideal client without relying on referrals or luck?
This “How do I X without Y?” question forces you to re-think what you’re doing. AND what’s actually possible.
Again, this requires you know yourself and what YOU really want to achieve.
By getting very clear on your outcomes and what you DO NOT want to do, you can eliminate 90% of the busy-work tasks on your to-do list.
